The Perfect Pancake Maker  |  Don't Bother Archive

We are regulars at the IHOP on Cedar Lane in Teaneck, and usually have a short stack of pancakes when we are there !

SO ! It would seem like a good idea for people like us to be able to make good pancakes at home. About a year ago we saw an ongoing ad campaign for the "Perfect Pancake Maker". Sure, why not - we thought - it sounded like a good idea. So we tried it !

The Perfect Pancake Maker is like 2 fry pans, joined together by a hinge at the end, so you can flip the whole pan over to cook the other side.

Very excited, we got the ingredients together on a Saturday morning, and attempted to make some delicious, light fluffy pancakes ! UNFORTUNATELY, this did not happen.

Every time we tried to make pancakes, they cooked unevenly. They always ended up too thick, and looked more like silver dollar pancakes than nice full size golden pancakes... and they were burnt in some areas, and not cooked enough in other areas.

We even thought we could at least make use of it as an egg frying pan, to cook over-hard fried eggs - but every time we tried to flip the pans over, the egg zoomed off the pan and onto the floor !!

Needless to say, we dont have this pan in our house anymore ! - in fact - we sold it at our Summer Tag Sale last summer.

We have heard from a couple of people who do like this pan, but we had more people email us and tells us they also couldnt stand the Perfect Pancake Maker... we say Dont Bother with it !
